Literary Elements
Literary elements refer to the different parts that make up a story. There are generally four parts of a story: theme, plot, character, and setting.
Theme
The theme of a story is the main message or lesson that an author wants readers to take away from a story. The theme of a story may not be directly stated.

Plot
Plot refers to the different events that occur in a story and help it move forward. Conflict and resolution are important aspects of a plot.

Character
A character is a person, animal, or object that takes part in a story in some way. Characters have both internal and external traits that help set them apart.
